As a loving parent, you may be concerned about your child. Perhaps they are acting out at home or at school, exhibiting intense emotions and off-track behaviors, and traditional parenting methods such as rewards and punishments have not helped. You have tried everything in your toolbox and now may be overwhelmed, not knowing what to do.
Or maybe your child is showing signs of anxiety and perfectionism - not wanting to try things if they are not “perfect” at them, refusing to do homework or recreational activities, fears of separating from you during the day and/or night, trying to control everything, angry outbursts when things do not go their way - and you do not know how to help them anymore. Maybe they have experienced a loss, or have been bullied, and your heart hurts for them. You just want them to be happy and resilient, yet you are not sure how to support them through this time.
Dr. Melissa has tools and resources that can help while empowering your child and you, the parent, with interventions that can be used at home and in school.
Dr. Melissa believes it is very important to create a safe, inclusive space for all clients away from expectations and demands. Free from the pressure to perform or meet any type of external standards, Dr. Melissa can teach you new tools and deepen insights that can truly support you on your journey ahead.
There doesn’t need to be anything "wrong” with you at all. Dr. Melissa is here to meet you just as you are, with an open mind and caring heart, to support you in your natural unfolding.
