Dr. Melissa Marshall is the sole provider at Inner Light Psychological Services PLLC, a private mental and behavioral health practice located in the heart of the New Hampshire Seacoast. Dr. Marshall provides individualized neuropsychological evaluations and counseling in a relaxed, inclusive, and supportive setting, ensuring that clients and families receive the time and attention they need without feeling rushed. Her approach prioritizes comfort, trust, and collaboration, helping children, adolescents, and young adults feel understood and supported throughout the process.


Education, Training & Expertise

Dr. Marshall earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and is a licensed psychologist in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. With a passion for integrating clinical psychology and education, she pursued extensive training and professional experiences to develop a comprehensive understanding of child development, learning, and mental health. She is also a licensed school psychologist in Connecticut and Massachusetts, giving her unique insight into the intersection of psychology and education.


A Holistic, Whole-Child Approach

Before transitioning to outpatient care, Dr. Marshall worked across clinical, school, and community settings to gain a well-rounded perspective on the interactions between children, parents, educators, and support systems. Her diverse experience includes:

  • Therapy and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults with complex behavioral, emotional, and neurodevelopmental concerns
  • Collaboration with special education teams, district administrators, and legal counsel to support students with diverse learning needs
  • Expertise in navigating IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Section 504 regulations, ensuring that families understand their rights and access appropriate school-based support


Advanced Clinical Training & Evidence-Based Approach

Dr. Marshall completed a health service provider postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology, refining her expertise in:

  • Comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations
  • Individualized, strength-based therapy and interventions
  • Supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, autism, learning disabilities, and emotional regulation challenges

Personally About Dr. Marshall

Dr. Marshall was a collegiate lacrosse player and former competitive kickboxer (Mauy Thai). With her competition days behind her, Dr. Marshall is a volunteer coach for Seacoast youth athletics and enjoys spending time with her family, being outside (especially on the beach), skiing, and meditating. She also enjoys dabbling in a delightful mishmash of hobbies with absolutely no rhyme or reason including writing, gardening, painting, and learning about quantum mechanics.
